Leaving Your Dog While You Explore
Your dog is very welcome to stay home alone in the cottage for a couple of hours if you fancy a meal out or want to visit somewhere that isn’t dog friendly. Our cottages are cosy, quiet, and perfect for a relaxed snooze while you’re away. We can check in on them if you like.
If you’d prefer not to leave them, or you’re planning a longer outing, we also offer a dog sitting service, giving you complete peace of mind while your pooch enjoys company and care.
Dog bath & Drying room
If your dog loves muddy adventures or you’ve spent the day at the beach, we’ve got you covered. Nearby to the cottages you’ll find our dedicated dog bath with a warm shower, perfect for rinsing off sand, mud, and salty coats before heading inside.
We’re also creating a cosy dog drying room, complete with a powerful dog safe hairdryer and towels. It’s designed to make post walk clean ups quick, easy, and completely stress free — for both you and your four legged friend.
Off lead at Puddleduck Valley
If your dog is well behaved off the lead, you’re welcome to let them explore outside your private garden under supervision. However, it’s important that dogs are kept under control at all times & dog waste is bagged and binned.
Note: We do have an elderly resident cat called Daisy who must not be chased, and there may be other dogs and children staying in the nearby cottages. For everyone’s comfort and safety, please take extra care when moving around the shared areas.
We want all guests — two & four legs — to enjoy a happy, relaxed holiday, and we really appreciate your cooperation.
Off-site Secure Dog Fields
If you’re travelling with a reactive dog, a dog who’s nervous around other dogs, a dog with poor recall, or one who chases livestock, we completely understand that you may prefer a more controlled, stress free environment.
While we are developing our secure dog field on site, we can recommend two fantastic secure dog fields nearby.
On-site Secure Dog Field
All of our accommodation have secure private gardens, but if you would like your dogs to have a good run around without the worry of them running off, we have the following option.
We are in the process of fencing our own ½ acre sloped sunny meadow.
We hope to have it ready for guests to use by March 2026. It’s a beautiful location with stunning views and a lovely sunny slope.
Free Dog Stays for Grown‑Up Getaways
All our accommodations can host up to two small dogs or one large dog.
When travelling without children, you can bring your dogs at no extra cost.
If your booking includes children, a fee of £25 per dog applies.
Our Dog Policy
To help keep Puddleduck Valley enjoyable for everyone, we kindly ask:
- Pick up after your dog
- Keep dogs under control while on site
- Use the dog field responsibly
- Please bring your own throws if your dog likes to relax on the sofa
- Please keep dogs out of bedrooms (Some guests have allergies)
- Please keep muddy paws off the beds — our local mud really stains
- Let us know if you need anything — we’re always happy to help
We genuinely love welcoming dogs to Puddleduck Valley and want both you and your four legged friends to feel completely relaxed during your stay.
Dog Sitting Service
If you’d like to explore somewhere that isn’t dog friendly, we offer onsite dog sitting. Your dog can relax in the comfort of your cottage while we keep them company, ensuring they feel safe, calm, and cared for and take them out for a short walk.
